On July 17th donors and board members with an interest in food security shared an evening in the Saskatoon Food Bank Garden Patch learning about the various ways individuals and companies are engaged through the garden.
It is a wonderful place, with so much going on to provide not only food (which it does in abundance, 15000-20000 lbs a year!), but skill building, connection to community, and a sense of belonging. It was an absolute privilege and delight to be able to bring some of the people who direct their gifts to Saskatoon Food Bank or food security in general to see what their donations help make happen! Many thanks to our tour guide, Adrian, and to the Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Centre team for hosting us and providing a much greater understanding of what goes on at the Garden Patch!
