Role of the Board of Directors

According to the Saskatoon Community Foundation Act, the board of directors “shall direct the management, business, and affairs of the foundation.”

The board of directors is responsible for setting the strategic direction for Saskatoon Community Foundation, establishing appropriate policies to ensure strategic objectives and outcomes based on the mission and vision of the foundation, protection of assets, and long-term sustainability.

The board delegates to the CEO, responsibility for general management and supervision of the affairs and operations of the organization. The board supervises and evaluates the CEO’s execution of board-approved strategies and plans.
