Herb and Thelma Butler Family Fund

Herb and Thelma were both born and raised in Saskatoon, Herb in the Mayfair area, Thelma in the Caswell area. They were married in 1939 and while Herb worked with the Dairy Pool, retiring as General Manager in the 1960s, Thelma raised their three children: Dave, Robert and Beverley. In addition to an active family and community life, the Butlers were avid golfers. Both were members of the Riverside Golf & Country Club, and Thelma was later a member of the Saskatoon Golf & Country Club. Herb is remembered as a member of the Saskatoon Club, Rotary Club, Saskatoon Branch of the Canadian Manufacturer’s Association, National Dairy Council of Canada, and a life member of the Saskatchewan Dairy Association. Although the Butler children now live in Calgary, they still have a cottage at Waskesiu and return every summer. Dave Butler and his wife Bev established the family fund in honour of his parents and the city in which he grew up. It has been left undesignated, meaning funds can be used at the discretion of The Saskatoon Foundation.
