The Oscar and Doris Elviss Fund was established by Dale & Perlita Elviss (Seen in the above photo) as a memorial to Dale’s parents and their life long contributions to fostering and sustaining their community. Oscar and Doris were active volunteers in their hometown of Brock, as well as in the Kindersley area at large. Oscar served for seventeen years as Reeve of the RM of Hillsborough prior to its amalgamation with Kindersley. He volunteered for the United Church and Sunday school, school board, hospital board, seniors’ home, Farmers Union and Credit Union. In 1965, he was honoured with a Master Farmer award. Doris was equally active, serving on boards and committees of the Anglican Church, cemetery association, hospital auxiliary and local square dance group, as well as Reta Rebecca Lodge. She received the IOOF Decoration of Chivalry in 1992.
