For the 2025 granting period, the Cameco Fund for Mental Health has raised $49,000 to support mental health initiatives in the Northumberland County area. The application period for the fund opens on October 1, 2025.

With the 2025 total of $49,000, the Cameco Fund for Mental Health has raised more than $450,000 since it launched in 2019. To date, 56 local organizations have received funding to advance mental health programs and initiatives in the community.

“Investing in mental health helps build healthier, stronger communities,” said Andy Thorne, vice-president of Cameco’s Fuel Services Division and Operational Excellence. “We’re grateful to our community partners for not only joining us to help raise these important funds, but also for keeping the conversation going. Together, our work will make a positive difference for those who need it.”

In June, Cameco hosted its 14th annual Charity Golf Tournament, raising more than $34,000 with a sold-out tournament at Dalewood Golf and Country Club. These events, along with donations and employee events bring the total funding available to $49,000.

The grant application is open to registered charities, non-profits, and organized groups. The deadline for online applications is 5 p.m. on October 31, 2025.
