COVID-19 Community Response Fund Online Donation Open

Collaborative City-Wide Support for Most Vulnerable Underway with Online Donation Portals

Give via Saskatoon Community Foundation

Give via United Way of Saskatoon and Area

Saskatoon, March 24, 2020 – For Saskatoon Community Foundation and United Way of Saskatoon and Area, community is the heart of everything we do. As our community rallies to keep each other safe and healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic, our role as community connectors is more important than ever. We know that people with the means to give want to help so we have created a secure donation portal, the Saskatoon COVID-19 Community Response Fund. You can give online through either the Saskatoon Community Foundation or United Way of Saskatoon and Area website, 24 hours a day, and will receive a charitable donation receipt right away.

The goal of this fund is to connect those able to help financially with local agencies stretched thin today and facing uncertainty tomorrow. Agencies helping those most vulnerable in this pandemic need money to keep staff and volunteers equipped, ready and able to help, and, above all, safe.

Saskatoon Community Foundation and United Way of Saskatoon & Area are part of Saskatoon Community Response to COVID-19, a group of more than 120 local organizations and agencies that have pivoted their work to support the most vulnerable. This group is a hub of community expertise in service delivery and Saskatoon Community Foundation and United Way are proud to be a part of mobilizing collaborative funding that will be distributed equitably and swiftly, as the challenges we face an unprecedented and fluid challenge. Funds raised will be disbursed based on local needs identified by this group.

Saskatoon Community Foundation will be contributing grant money from unrestricted funds and United Way of Saskatoon and Area is supporting the Saskatoon COVID-19 Community Response Fund. We invite our donors, the community at large, and all funders to join in this city-wide population-level response to this crisis.

Community is our strength. No one organization can solve this. Our community is its best when we support each other and work to keep everyone safe and cared for.

We are in this together and we will get through this together. This crisis is unsettling for all of us and is causing so much uncertainty. The Saskatoon COVID-19 Community Response Fund is safe, secure, transparent and held to the highest standards of charitable practices.  You can rest assured that your gift at this critical time will be used where it is needed most, right here at home.

Saskatoon Community Foundation:

With a vision to make Saskatoon the best community in which to live, the Saskatoon Community Foundation contributes to the quality of life in our city by building endowed and non-endowed funds, and by providing strategic grant making and philanthropic advisory services, as well as community leadership and mobilization. Saskatoon Community Foundation offers endowed funds in which donations are held in perpetuity, generating income to make grants. It also offers non-endowed funds where donors strategically grant their entire gift to several charities. And every year, the foundation grants to a range of community projects and initiatives on behalf of donors who have created unrestricted funds.
